Whats the difference between using this program and using Nero or Alcohol for making PS2 backups?

I was planning on using Alcohol 120%, but I noticed the little dropdown menu I used to use for PS1 games is gone. It was really nice to be able to select "Playstation", it made me feel more confident that the backups would work :D

Anyways, I got a read error about half-way through, but its probably unrelated and due to a scratch on the disc. But I just downloaded DVD decryptor and I don't know what I'm supposed to do to make the backup, probably will figure it out here is a sec, cheers!

Oh and by the way I'm using Maxell 16X DVD +R media to try and copy Final Fantasy X with the latest LITEON combo drive. SOHW-1673S

Quick way to copy a game. Assuming you have the original game dvd and want to back it up.

step#1

open dvd decryptor then go to MODE>ISO>READ and then it will copy the game and make an iso file on your pc hdd.

Step#2

when that finishes go to MODE>ISO>WRITE and then select the iso file that decryptor just maade. It will burn the file to the dvd and presto you are done.

Simple as that. DVD Decrypter Is Free and It's Easy to Use What's Why You Should use It,I Have Made Over 40 backups With Dvd Decypter And Have Had No Problems Yet, Just Make Sure You Set The Read Speed And Write Speed(Not Over 2x)

Thanks, I figured it out before reading your reply. I did a 16X read, 8X write and Gran Tourismo 3 works perfectly (would have done 16x burn, but Walmart only had 8X media), my first DVD backup ever! :) Am I just lucky that 8X worked? Or are you guys just being paranoid with the 1x speeds you say? I'm using Maxell DVD +R by the way, another stroke of luck? I thought -R was supposed to be better...

Yes, if the movies start skipping, you will know why. I burn mine at 2x and they all work perfectly.
