Hello Guys,

I urgently need to backup some data onto regular CD-R. My writer (SONY - 8x/4x/32x) worked fine till about 2 months ago since i started noticing constant errors (BURN PROCESS FAILED). I usually use NERO for this. I've also tried the in-built burning application with WINDOWS XP, and that too displays the same error. The error shows up mid-way into the burn process, so the CD becomes usless after that.

Do you think it is the writer or something else? The write (as you can see from the spec) is about 3-4 years old (if i remember correctly!).

Any ideas? Please help...
