the real trick: get a plastic straw, cut it the same lenght as an AA
battery or slightly longer, then cut it lengthwise to reduce it
perimeter by half. Squeeze it along its length so that it's flat. Then
fold it in a V-shape and push it down between the hinge over sensor C.
You have to fiddle with this part until you hit the right depth and
position, but it didn't take long. The straw is flexible, so that the
part sicking out easily bends when you close the lid. Or else, for
sensor C you can use the tape-over-sensor method explained very clearly
in http://www.jspot.net/ps2.htm

i used the straw and works gr8

u can also close the lid

u still need to use teh 2 other peices of plastic

Oh my God! It really DOES work! Leave it to a newbie to figure that one out. I have tried many methods, and this is the only one that I got to work, not to mention in about 1 minute. tomholden, you rock! I was about to break down and buy a flip-top... Nah, I'm such a cheap-ass, who am I kidding! Anyway, thank you so much for this! Now I have to see if I can get the Game Shark to install the exploit. Once again, thanks a lot!!!

It's not a new method. But i guess it works. I don't have a V12, myself, but my 7yo bro does.

So my mom brings it over one day with some swap magic disks and some little plastic peices of crap, and asks me if i can get it working. I just opened the damn thing up and taped the two lid switches down. Easy as pie. The only plastic peice i used was the one for the cd bumper.

I'll stick with my V5 PS2, myself. ;)

WOW! I have been struggling for weeks I am about to try this method now. Thank you so much! Thought I'd join JUST to thank you

EDIT: Ok, when you said lengthwise did you mean cutting here:

[-------HERE--------] or do you mean down the centre where the dotted line is... I mean I will work it out, but if you're around I guess it wouldn't hurt if you could just say :P

OK,here we go again. It didn't work with any of the methods... I am still getting the "not a vallid PS2 disc" when I am changing the discs with swap magic. Unless I have doen it really wrong...

I did it yesterday and it works great along with the 2 other pieces.
I was even able to bend the straw and glue it to the console so that I can close it.
Anyway I'm a bit afraid the straw might melt or something, anyone is sure it won't ?

Yeah I'm searching for a fix to the same problem. The straw sounds great, but has anybody who's been doing had any problems with it, like the last person asked?
