Ok so I have been running the spice chip with a 1.6 xbox for about 3 months now no problems. Well all of a sudden today I get a message that says cannot connect to live you might have a modified system. Now I have the retail hard drive and was using the retail dashboard as well. Well it didnt say anything about me being banned so I rebooted the xbox and tried to go back on. Well now its telling me it cannot connect to xbox live. Was my system banned and if so can I just get a new eeprom to fix it? Also I do not know if this means anything or not but before this happened my ip was 198.162.0.102 and now its 198.162.0.100? Kinda odd

Oh yah I can still ftp the xbox I just had to change the ip address in FlashFXP.

No, did you have your chip off when you went on live? if not, you are banned. To fix this you will need a new eeprom and a new hard drive.

Nope the chip wasnt on i was on the retail version. If I was banned wouldnt it tell me or would it just not let me connect to live?

it will probably say that you havea moddified system. You are not banned if you have your chip off and the stock hard drive using the disc to play.

Yeah this is why I am stumped. I am going to try and run it straight through the modem and see if its not something to do with my router.

Well I tried running it straight through the modem and still no connect. I can still ftp the xbox with no problem other than the ip address changed to 192.168.0.100. I am going to try to unplug the xbox now and see if this somehow fixes things I am out of ideas. I already tried reinstalling slayers pack also and still no dice.

Well you can't ftp and go on live at the same time, that would mean that your chip is on and that would also mean you are banned.

Really I did not know that. I really thought that I could use my slayer dashboard and go on live and not get banned since thats the only way you can ftp the xbox with a chip on or a soft mod active. I stated that when I try to login I do not use the other dashboards I use the retail one.

Dude, i already asked you if you had your chip on. If you can switch between evox and your m$ dash, and you go on live, you are banned. get a new eeprom and a new hard drive and then you can get back on.

I know I was being sarcastic :) If you read the top it explains everything quite clearly. But anyhow I have been banned I used my friends xbox here and it works fine so now I am waiting on a new eeprom and I just got a new hd. I am about to install the hard drive now. Thanks for all your help I really didnt mean to sound like a dick I was just pissed from all this.
