Hello, I was wondering if anyone had gotten around to inventing software that will burn an exact copy of a PS2 game, in such a way that the console recognizes it as a legit game and as such requires no Mod Chip or Swap Disk to run. Or, is this no possible due to physical characteristics of the disk they use?? If this is the case, I would expect there to be a specific type of burner or media that could be used with certain software to achieve the effect I am looking for. If sony can burn these, there has to be a way for us to do the same. Any ideas or knowlege would be appreciated. Thanks. :-)

nope impossible. sony and other companies don't use burners. they use presses to "press" the indo onto a disc

Damn, that wasn't very nice of them. I have been googling this for a while and can't seem to find any links to the pressing technology. you don't have a link to a page that describes this process do you?? I guess this means that the PS2 actually reads the physical characteristics of the disk to determine if it is an original. If that is the case, I wonder if if the console only checks a certain location of the disk for a code or if it is constantly checking to see if data is "pressed" or burned. If there is a code at a certain location on the disk and that is all it looks at, one could manufacture disks with this code aready pressed into them and leave them open for further burning. Of course by the time all that came together Playstation 3 would already be out and we would be trying to figure out how to copy the new Blue ray technology they will be using. Still, I am curious about the process they use to get the data onto the disk. Thanks for any info.
