In my sig I have a couple of words using an apostrophe. When I click save(my sig) and reply to a thread there are two apostrophes instead of just one like it should be. Is there a bug in the code....?
I see other's with just one what am I doing wrong?

I was coming to this forum to post about the same problem and I saw this thread so I'll just add to it. As you can see from my sig there's apostrophes but they look like quotation marks. When I went in to change my sig there were 4 apostrophes everywhere I had one. Now I got 'em down to 2 apiece, but it's still kinda annoying.

Thanks for pointing this bug to us, I'll investigate the issue. It is most likely related to the fact that we changed our application server quite recently. I assume both of you have created and/or edited your sig within last 2-3 months?

If you go and edit your sig and remove the dupe 's, the issue should get solved. It was a bug in our code -- code didn't behave exactly the same with the new app server that we changed our site to use two weeks ago and I had to change it slightly.

dRD, would that also be the problem with copy/paste links. I would paste a link and when I checked the actual post the link was kind of scrambled. I would click edit and the link was correct. Then just clicking save changes without actually making changes and the link would correct itself.

Jerry: Could you post an example here, try to make it go pearshaped and don't edit it, so I can see it?

also wanted to note that it did this on a link that started with https://
I had to take out the s for the link to actually work.

**edit
I was mistaken. It did not scramble this link. It just did not recognize it as a url and removing the s made it work.

I know what the issue is -- it is due our thingy that "autotags" certain words and links them to aD's software downloads, etc. Like DVD Shrink <- that should appear as a link, even tho I didn't add one to it. Now, the URL has Nero in it (with certain rules, this time having full stops in both sides), so it tried to first make the pasted URL a real URL and then additionally tries to add a link to the Nero text within the link, thus screwing up the whole thing. I've been aware of this bug for ages, but still haven't fixed it. I try to get my head around it shortly (within next few weeks).

Thanks Boss, Its easy enough to correct for now (edit/save changes). That usually fixes the bad ones.

Glad to know that the problem with the links was not just my browser. I too have been going back and editing to correct the problem.

Yea, its only some links that scramble. Not a big deal to fix once you know how.
