I have a .RAR with an ISO in it that is about 3.3 GB. When I went to extract it, it failed because I have the FAT32 file system and only NTFS can support files > 4 GB. I don't want to have to make a new partition, I have all FAT32 because I use Windows 98 also.
Please, I need either a way to split the file upon extraction with WinRAR and then a way to burn them as one. Or I need a way to burn the ISO straight from inside the .RAR, so it gets uncompressed temporarily in parts as it is written to DVD.

@ gozila
i am not sure that will solve the problem,
rar files are compressed, then uploaded on the net for smaller downloads,
when extracted the file becomes bigger, hence the problem joe7dust is having,
dvd decrypter will burn files over 4 gb,as it splits them.....
but the trouble you are going to have is extracting the iso, because its obviously going to be about the 4.5 gb mark,
just convert to ntfs, that seems to be the only i can think of doing it,
what game is it btw??

I have not tested this so use at your own risk. I know when i put in a slave drive and used the Windows XP program that came on my system to do the conversion, it wiped the drive clean of everything. Getting a second small drive for the purpose of burning is a great idea. I have a small 40GB drive i pulled out of an old Compaq that i converted to NTFS just to burn and extract games to.
Convert FAT to NTFS
Q: Is it possible to convert a FAT32 Hard Drive to NTFS without losing all data on the drive? I like to change from FAT32 to NTFS, my operating system is Windows XP PRO, how can I do that? Without the lost of my programs?
A: Standard Windows utility that is called CONVERT serves this purpose
Just go to the Command Prompt and execute the command:
C:\> CONVERT C: /fs:ntfs
Where C: is a name of the drive you want to convert.
After machine re-boot conversion process will start and you'll have your FAT32 converted to NTFS without of data loss.

Thanks for the info, I knew I could do that I just don't want to because I may want my Windows 98 OS to access files there too. Hopefully I can just covert a 5GB or so area for burning DVDs like this instead of a whole drive.

bad news man.
I was in the same boat as you.
I was running win98se, and anything over 2gigs was split so I couldn't patch it.
I had to upgrade to windows XP, but it was well worth it. now I made my second drive NTFS, so I extract to that one.

true xp is alot better than 98, but there are somethings that 98 can do that xp can't. like play alot of older dos based games/early windows ones.
