Well, this is my first post on a Gamecube related site as I just today started my foray into the Gamecube modding scene, long time Xbox modder however, so I do have some experience.
I've been searching the forums and reading posts and trying my best to solve this problem without having to inquire any unnecessary help, however it is rather late and I think I'm about to call it a night. First though, I was hoping if I post my problem someone would be able to suggest some steps for me to attempt tomorrow.
I have a DOL-101(USA) version GC, with a Viper mod and Cobra Bios (version 1.0 possibly, I believe that 1.2 didn't seem to work properly) installed.
I am attempting to run a backup of Zelda Four Swords. I have burned the game with Nero 6.6.0.6 on a Liteon LWD-411S (I believe) DVD-/+RW with TEON 8x DVD-R media at 2x speed which works great on all of my Xboxs when I actually need to burn a DVD, which is almost never!
A few details on what I am experiencing:
*Original games load fine and dandy, no worries there.
*The Cobra Bios loads fine also.
*When I attempt to Direct Boot my backup of ZFS, I get a red DRE screen.
*When I go to the Switch disc option however, the game loads but is rather strange. What it displays is the generic revolving red nintendo logo. However, the logo is greyed out and the screen is shuttering like you would imagine an old reel movie. After the Nintendo logo fades, it is replaced after a few seconds with a different DRE which says the game disc cannot be read and I should consult my manual for instructions. (I'm not sure, but I doubt they have help for this situation)
I'm sorry for the long post, but I believe being detailed is extremely important. Also, if someone realizes that a previous poster has solved this problem, please be kind enough to direct me to that thread and I will apologize in advance for wasting your precious time!
I believe that if noone has replied I will go to a local store and purchase some DVD+R media in the hopes that that works. But please, any suggestions/recommendations will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
