as a new user, i am wondering if anybody can help me here. i have a mico dvd player home theatre system that seems to have sound problems. i say 'seems' because, on certain films, such as Spiderman 2, the sound is amazing, whereas, the recent Spaghetti western special editions are not so hot - the left and right front speakers have distortion, which makes the music in particular difficult to fully appreciate. another thing is the problem with downmixing. seemingly, i cannot convert the sound to stereo, with just the centre speaker working. every time i watch something like only fools and horses (2 channel stereo), i get both left and right speakers working and not the centre, which robs it of bass.

can anybody help me here?

do i need a new player? is my player faulty, or is it the speakers?

am i overreacting, or is there a problem?
