have just installed a spider chip,really easy took around 5 mins,have got evox m8_16 bios and created a dummy file,but this is where i'm stuck,what do you do next?
Have also got spider chip flasher off xbins-would this be more suitable?

I can't give you the advice you seek; however, that spiderchip has got only one 256k bank and flashing it wrong will render it useless. I know because it happened to me. Then i got the xenium ice. I must say, it has been a wet dream come true.
rename the bios to bios...burn it along with your dummy file onto a cd...boot xbox, at the flashbios screen choose flash from disc, it will then spit the tray at you, put your bios disc in and watch it flash...the xbox will then shut itself off...once that is done you need to install a new dashboard.
go to modchipzone,go into their forum,join up,it's free,go to xbox newbie chat and you will find a tutorial for getting all your bios and dashboards-hope that helps
Yeah so I installed a spider modchip 1.0b (1.1) and flashed my XBOX (1.2) and then it restarted, and normal dashboard appeared. However, the evoX logo in to the corner appears when I boot up now.
So is this all good? 256K bios file + dummy file used on the CD.
Now that's all complete, do I need something else, and install a dashboard?
Right now it starts up, shows the changed start with the evoX in the corner, and goes to normal dashboard.
What do I do from here???
