right this is what to do.
Get urself Slayers Auto Installer 2.6 (get it off xbins)
And put in the new hdd in the xbox and put slayers in the DVD drive
Boot ur xbox (with slayers in the dvd drive) and then install slayers. This is the easiest way. It may be some time before ur xbox boots off the CD but keep trying! :D
Once installed that, there is two ways to transfer all ur files over.
1) Copy all ur files from ur old hdd to ur computer then back to ur new hdd. (this takes f*cken ages)
2) Get ur self another xbox (must be modded) and get a crossover (they r dirt cheap on ebay) and connect the crossover cable to the 2 xboxes (put ur new hdd in one xbox, and ur old hdd in the other).
use Avalaunch or something and copy all the files over. this way is the methood i would use cos it is really really fast!
You should have no problems doing this but if u do just stick them back on this!

I have my box softmodded and use UnleashX as my dash. I want to install 120 gig Seagate HDD. I have Slayers auto installer and the disk will boot with stock softmodded drive but will not with upgraded 120 gig drive. Should I swap drives before I try to boot or should I boot with old retail HDD and then swap with new drive? I've tried both ways to no avail. Everytime I put in new HDD and then boot I keep getting error-13.Is this drive not compatible? It's the Seagate 120gig drive that BestBuy carries in store now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank! PS Ive also tried other boot disks but still the same. Thanks again!

Um...i don't know why uninformed people keep telling softmodders that they cannot upgrade their harddrive. It is EASILY done with Xboxhdm 1.9 and a PC. Night, PM me if you want step by step instructions...I have a softmodded xbox, and have softmodded about 12 xboxes and upgraded the harddrive on 10 of them. All have worked without a problem and it takes about 20 mins to do.

I want to say thanks before I post my problem! I have been lurking in these forums for over 8 months and gettin alot of help! So THANK YOU!!
here is my problem! I have softmodded like 45+ boxes...so I am not new to it. But last night I recieved a BRAND NEW xbox to soft mod. And the mod went great with EVOX installed! But when I went to upgrade the HD, thats where the problems started! As I was FTPing all the nessasary files over to my PC every time I got to backup_linux folder it would freeze on the filec.tar.bz at 95%? The xbox would completlely freeze everytime I tried transfering it. I even reinstalled evox like 6 times! I am in need of some serious help. I have other softmodded xboxed laying around. Can I just use one of those to upgrade my 120GB HD that I want in my new one? Or is the bios files and stuff going to be different? If you have MSN IM you can contact me at lucky_mb@hotmail.com! I am glad I am an official member now here! I hope I can help out in the future!
