Burnt game plays, no swap magic, no GS

Alright, i couldnt find anything about this on a search, so im going to start this thread. Today i decided to try to copy a game to try and play ripped games on the ps2. I copied FFIV of the FF Chronology game for the PSX (which i own), using CDRwin.
I decided to see if i could get it running without the swap magic, so i started the PS2 without a game, entered the browser, then i put Chrono Trigger in and let the system register it as a psx game.
After this i used the card trick to switch out Chrono Trigger for the burnt FFIV, which loaded up fine from this screen.
Anyone know if this works for all psx games,all games, or just these two, being both Square games sold together...?
(this did make an unhealthy sounding noise.....)

i tried to load up my backup vampire hunter d it got to the black ps1 screen then stuck there scratched disc this could work though good thinking doesnt work with dvd games for ps2

Unmodded ps2 also

Yeah this definitely works, i have a burnt tekken 3 and need for speed porsche, i just put in the FFIV disc after i get to the browser screen, it shows the black psx disc, swap FFIV for the burnt game with the swap card, then select the psx game. Three for three burnt games work so far. They're all Memorex CD-R 80min discs to if anyone else wants to try this or knows anything about it.

I figured it wouldnt work for PS2 games, thanks for letting me know.
