Not sure what information ya'll want, but I'll try and put it all

Hardware: I/O Magic 16x dual layer double density dvd +R RW/-R RW (Sorry I'm sure I worded that all wrong but the box is in the attic) My pc calls it: DVDRW IDE 16X
Media: Memorex DVD-R Recordable 8x 4.7GB 120min video
Screen Shot of the error:
I tried to find answers before asking and saw something about updating firmware, and I'm really not sure what or how to do that, decrypter sends me to a page of about a zillion different things, and i dont know if I'm supposed to find my drive or if it means use what ever feels good or what LOL Also it really seemed that every i/o error on these boards get different answers So here i am!
So if I left out something just yell (hope the pic shows)
Thanks,
She
From my understanding, and please correct me of I'm wrong since I'm still learning aswell. The I/O error is caused by the media itself. Keeping your firmware updated is a good thing also. But the I/O could be a possible smudge, or scratch, or a fine piece of dirt on the media.
Yeah rotary, I've gone through a whole spindle of these discs, using the same proceedure. So I'm thinking that it's something wrong with my settings somehow, or the original movie??
Hey helnbrim, that was awful nice of you to go out of your way and find that information. Thanks, I'll go check it out now, and hopefully learn a 'thang er two' LOL
I've seen the i/o error on these boards before, seems like there were several reasons why they happen. I'm sure though that it's not the media or my process. I'll try backing up another movie later and we'll see how that goes...just wanted to fix anything that may have been obvious to anyone first.
