I am trying to create a backup of a disney movie that I own so the kids don't destroy my original. I am currently using ifoedit to make the copy of this movie. What I have done is remove all the extras and a video clip at the end. This has left me with enough space to put it onto a DVD-R. All this is not the problem, but the problem is after I recreate the dvd structure and play the movie the play button on the menu does not work. However if I go to the chapter menu and click on the first chapter it plays just fine. I am wondering if there is a way fix the play button. Thanks

Hey

I have found that IFOEdit has weird little side affects like that once in a while. it's a pretty good program but has flaws.
download VobBlanker. VobBlanker is faster and easier to use use. just choose which titles, chapters, or menus you want to cut and click "Blank". This program evens lets you cut somethings that IFOEdit won't.

Hope this works for ya

Once you decided to leave aparat extras, clips and menus it is ovious that the functionality is not the way that was before.
When using ifo isolate the VOB sequence of the movie only and recompile the project. The movie will start playing as soon as the disc is inserrted on the player.
If you want more detailed instruction let me know...

May I suggest the easiest way to do this with the least amount of time/fuss would be to use DVD Decrypter to decrypt to folders on the hard drive - then DVD Shrink to make it fit to one disk. Both programs are free and easy to use.

Using the full disk option of DVD Shrink you won't lose any menu functionality, and children are unlikely to notice any loss of video quality that shrinking may cause (heck I can't even notice it and I'm all grown up).

Hope this helps. Lots of guides on how to do this.

The third tab above "Guides" will answer most of the rest.
