This is not really the right forum for this....

A domain, when talking about the internet is simply the unique name that actually takes the place of one or more IP addresses.
In the URL http://www.yahoo.com/index.html, the domain name is Yahoo.com.


When you get a domain name and build a few web pages you will probably want to find a web host so other folks can see your great website. Web hosting companies have computer space available for rent, so to speak. You send your pages to the "host" computer and now your "clients" can request to see your pages by entering your page's url or your domain name. Your domain is hosted.
