AVI -- GIF and other questions

Hi people
I want to convert an AVI video file to a GIF animation.
I have a program called Coffee Animator but it only works for files under 500 kb and my video is 1.52 mb.
So i have 3 questions:
1) Is there a program that can covert files that are 1.5 mb ?
2) How can i seperate the audio from the video in my file ?
3) How can i cut the video so that only a part of it would be shown ?
