Will burning at 4X cause skipping?

I have a set of TDK (TTGO2) DVD-R discs. These worked perfectly on a few other games i have burned. After burning one game, i noticed there was audio skipping when i played them. I have never had this problem before, so i was wondering if it was because i burned the game at 4X. The discs only support 4X as the lowest burning speed. If i bought duscs that could burn at 1-8X would burning at a lower speed than 4X solve the problem? Thnx

It depends on the configuration you got. (software/burner/discs/comp) I have had trouble the few times i burned at 4x with slow loading times, so i burn at 1x now just to be safe and have flawless results. Yet, some burn at 4x with flawless results. It's hard to say, but it definitely won't hurt burning slower.

in my experiance it depends on media/burner.

some work at 4x and some at 2x. just be sure to set bitsetting to dvd-rom for dvd+rs better chance of it working. dvd-rom bittsetting for dvd-r doesn't hurt either

I burn at 8x or 12x and never had a problem. I don't get the slow speed theory.
