nero audio playback problem.

Hello,
i have been using nero 6.3.... for over 1 year without any problem,but recently,i discovered that my nero media player and nero wave editor could not play any audio tracks again,but when i play my video files with Nero media player it works perfectly. I have tried to play my audio files with other media players ,such as window media player-it works well.
moreso,if i record music with nero wave editor,it records but doesn`t play back.I have tried to resolve this issue personally for 5 days now but i did not succeed-that is why i decided to seek advice from the genius,who knows more than i do.
Your help in resolving this issue will be highly appreciated.
i am using windows xp pro and currently nero 63125.
