hi

really new to ps2, got my first ps2 2 weeks ago, the slim one...

now ive been looking at getting some sort of chip, after attempting to boot from a burned cd i figured out they dont work at all without some sort of chip/mod...

i read this

and basically says get some stuff on the memory card and use a ps1 disk to boot a ps2 backup... or am i reading it completly wrong ? :/

its just getting it on the memory card which is the hard bit... i can get an xploder disk locally that says it reads external usb hd's and has a memory card manager... so is it possible for me to do it with this? copy the data from the hd to the memory card

if so does this method work at all ? or am i wasting my time and should just find somewhere locally that sells swap magic 3?

I dont have a slim version but I do know that you can do a memory card exploit several ways, the way I done it is by using the id of a PS1 game and making my cd memory card exploit, but in order to do that you must have the swap disc or modded ps2, the other way by USB via FTP or pc to HDD connection and FTP.
