Hi all,

Thanks to all the fantstic guides on this website ( thanks too all who take the time to put them together ) i have been backing up my dvds with no problems. Until now.

I tried to copy a dvd-r but dvd shrink freezes at 42%. All other dvd copiers i have tried do the same.

I have a Pioneer DVR-K14L Drive and up untill today have had no problems. Any ideas on what the problrm could be? and how to solve it?

Again many thanks in advance for all your help.

So you are trying to rip an already burned copy of a movie and you get the CRC error? And no other software will read it or none of your other drives/computers will read it?

CRC errors usually come from scratches/smudges/dirty discs, but can also come from bad presses (not in your case) or low quality media (may apply to your case). Do you get these errors with all your burned discs? If so then it's probably low quality media you are using. Try to read the disc from your burner (if not doing so already). If that doesn't work any better, you might have to pick up some better media to use from now on. You can also tweak DVD Decrypter to get better ripping performance, which might also help. To find out how, check ScubaPete's guides (check link in my sig). If all that doesn't help, maybe check into updating your firmware on your drive.
