how would i burn a ps2 ISO onto a CD to play it on my ps2? do i need special hardware? special programs, or can i just use Nero for burning?

P.S. I'm trying to burn Marvel vs. Capcom 2 onto a CD. Also, if i have to use a dvd burner, what software do i need?

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

Assuming you have one of the above,
You can use several programs.

wouldn't putting in a mod-chip be voiding my warranty...? ^^'

and where would i find a boot disc, and how would i use it?

So...lemme get this straight, if i just burnt the ISO onto a disk using Nero, put it in my ps2, the game wouldn't work?

EDIT: would having a new slim ps2 make any difference?

We all wouldnt be buying them if we didnt need them.

YOU MUST HAVE A MODCHIP OR SWAP MAGIC DISKS (ORIGINALS)
THERE IS NO WAY AROUND THIS

swap magic discs are boot discs when used with a 'tool' to
open the tray without pressing eject to play copied games.

You can get swap magic here, Http://www.swapmagic3.com
With the new 'slim' ps2 you will need a ghost switch or slim tool also.

Yes, you NEED to either install a modchip, or use boot discs. and yes, installing a modchip would pretty much void your warranty.
