When you encode with two passes, each time specifying a different avi to output to....how do they get together and create a single file ?????

Nothing I have read seems to say that two files are produced...

Any clues for me...

The first pass file is useless once the process (the second pass) has finished -- first pass contains "instructions" for second pass how the video should be encoded, which parts of the video require more data (==are more complex), etc..
