Hi guys.
First off, I?d like to thank you for a great site ? I?ve never done this stuff before, and thanks to the guides on here, I?ve managed to burn my first DVD without any problems.
Secondly, my apologies if you?ve heard this question before ? I?ve tried to search for my problem, but I get a million results, and most of them are about trimming a few megs off a file, not the issue I?m having?
Running AVIcodec, I get the following:
File : 699 MB (699 MB), duration: 1:58:34, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 37 %
Video : 604 MB, 713 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 544*288 (16:9), DIV3 = DivX v3 ;-) MPEG-4 (Low-Motion), Supported
Audio : 95 MB, 112 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported
I don?t want subtitles, so I jumped straight to TMPGEnc. According to the guide, I selected DVD NTSC, and CBR - MPEG-1 Layer II Audio (MP2), then hit next. I selected the source video. Video type is non-interlace; Aspect ratio is 1:1 (VGA). Content of Video is Film Movie.
I hit next, select Other Settings. Rate control mode is changed to 2-pass VBR, Motion Search Precision is changed to Highest Quality (very slow). The next screen, I change the resolution to 720 x 480. The Average video bitrate is at 4000, audio bitrate at 384, and the estimated file size is 12969.88 megs! I drop the Video bitrate to the minimum it will allow (2000), and the file size is still 7052.97 megs. The reason I think there?s something wrong, is that the movie info at the top is displaying the movie as being 406 min and 22 seconds!
I?ve tried 3 files so far, and one worked fine, but this is the second one that is displaying a length that is twice as long (at least!) as the file actually is.
Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated!
