I am having probs with burning dvd back ups. I do everything like everyone says but my ps2 wont play the dvd back ups.Just want to know if anyone with a solder magic 3.1 mod is having luck with dvd backups using decrypter. When I put the game in, it reads and says "disc read error".Any suggestions?
I have a magic 3.1 I have had problems with it not reading bad media. but now I just use verbatim or sony and have no problems. the error I was getting was the "please insert a ps2 disc" red screen error. I had disc read errors, before I modded my ps2, cleaned the lens and it went away. hope this helps...let me know
So your 3.1 doesn't have probs with dvd format games? I was starting to think it was the mod. I will clean the lens to see if that works. If I could get the red screen to come up I can get them to work. I can only get the cdrs to get to the red screen. I thought all along I was doing it wrong, then I keep messing with the game(holding the reset button for different lengths of time) and it started working fine. I was using memorex(don't work)now I am using maxell(still no luck)I will try sony or verbatim and clean the lens and let you know if it works.
yeah, maxell and maxwell are crap media....get something better and clean the lens. I have no problems what so ever. the chip works perfect. did you install it or have it profesionally installed? does your ps2 bood orignials??
The chip was installed professionally in canada and they garuanteed it to work! It boots all originals and cdr backups fine just not dvd-r's. Are you using DVD Decrypter? What version ps2 do you have? I have got back ups on the way, I will see if they work. I was thinking it was my mod that was not working.
