Hi,
I have been using dvd shrink 3.2 for about the last 6 months without any problems...yesterday I went to rip a DVD and got this error..."DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue, failed to initialize aspi device" I have tried the solutions alredy posted. does anyone have any idea to fix this problem....

Below is straight from the DVD Shrink website and was posted by Cynthia:

Failed to initialize ASPI device

Error code ver 3.2:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to initialize ASPI device
The specified module could not be found.

Problem:

When you open a DVD in DVD Shrink you end up with the error code.

Solution:

Install an ASPI - if you have them installed already - they are most certainly corrupted.

For a guide on how to download and install an ASPI you could use this one from afterdawn.com.( http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/aspisetup.cfm

Another (possible) solution is that there is no DVD-Player installed on your PC. Credit: mystery

If the above don't work - try to dropp the WNASPI.DLL from Nero in your C:\windows\system or C:\system32 folder. Credit: Bulldawg
