is there anyway to convert ps2 game files so that dvd shrink will read them?(just a quick question) thanks

dvd shrink is only meant for ripping and shrinking movie files, so my answer would be no. what are you trying to do??

had a dumb idea...was wondering if i could convert ps2 files so DVD Shrink would read them as dvds...shrink them down...burn to dvd...open back up on computer(seeing how the ps2 file would have been compressed because of dvd shrink)...convert back to iso and then burned with DVD Decrypter...the game if your wondering is gt4...

Well, so far no-one is able to back up GT4 to a single layer dvd yet. So don't trip. Check out the god of war tutorial by sonix, it will show you how to shrink movie files within the dvd9 disc game and rebuild it to fit a dvd5 disc. It gives you a better idea of what you need to be able to do before you can even try to attempt to rebuild GT4 to dvd5.

yeah...i started looking at that thread a little after i created this one....i have a few ideas i'm going to try out...mostly with the I0prp.img and some of the pss files...hopefully it will bring me some luck...if they do i'll leave a post for it...

If it's GT4 your having a fiddle with save your better spent elsewhere time. GT4 can only (at the moment) be backed up to a DL DVD (DVD9) using the Toxic Patch, (works a treat). I have read most of the Official GT4 Forum and I belive just about everything has been tried, but if fiddling is what you want to do, fiddle away.

hey do you want to kknow how it turned out?

well i was able to put 83-88% on a dvd-5...that booted up and i was able to lay the game...it just doesn't have the arcade portion..do as a normal back up on dvd decrypter...just have "burn-proof" and "volume-lock" unchecked...then burn onto a dvd-5 at 1x or maybe 2x(i would go with the slowest you possibly can) you will get an error saying that the game is too big...click yes to go ahead with the burn....after about 83%-88% you will get another error saying invalid write address or something to that nature...click yes and the disc will begin to finalize...wait till the disc is done and presto chango you have working backup of gt4 on dvd-5(that is playeable with swap magic disc and you don't have to have the toxic patch...)....also you have to have a saved game on your memory card for the backup to read the disk...and you want to put this game on DVD+R...good luck
