hi
is it dvd complaint mpeg2?
but anyhoo's is it an avi or mpeg? use divxtodvd it will make vob/ifo/bup then just burn them to disc = done!
divxtodvd is free and fast!!!
use nero to burn on ADD-VIDEO tab button and place all files in the folder it makes called VIDEO_TS and burn 4x
Nothing here to see, move along folks.

so what you are saying bypass TMPEG all together. Just use divxtodvd converter then burn to dvd.? sorry im totally new to this.
I just downloaded a trial for copytodvd. I dont have Nero and the only other programme i ever used is decrypter, could i burn using this?

load the output from divxtodvd in dvd shrink then output to dvd decrypter's burn engine to burn it!
when you hit backup button you will see a window the settings in there!
yes let divxtodvd do the lot!

What file format is the original in?
(nowhere in the text did I read the poster saying, although it was assumed to be AVI subsequently)

I mpeg, therefore I am.

with VSO dvxtodvd you have ... aspect automatic...in the drop down box, you have force 4.3 the square screen option, and force 16.9 the wide screen option. Try the 16.9 wide screen option
DVDsanta has the same options.
best of luck
