Hi I have a v7 version of ps2 and I installed a no sodder mod chip I have almost every software imaginable on my computer for burning and shrinking but I cant seem to make it work I read something about a card? or disk that is needed also with the mod chip please let me know if anyone can walk me through this i would greatly appriciate it my ps2 wont read the copy I made for some reason I heard it needed to be a dvd-r is this true? my burner is a +/- thx...Pepsi

Your V7 should be able to play both +R and -R
I prefer -R but know many people who use +R.
With alot of no solder mod chips you still need to get a set of boot discs to play back up copies of your games. Swap Magic would be your best bet.
Back up movies on the other hand you do not need anything to play, they will play just like original movie discs.

Thx I looked into the mod chip I got and it fit but it seemsto be the wrong one that was on the pic from the site I bought it from and when I put the burned game in to try it without the magic disk it seems to have fried my ps2? the tray popped open fast then shut and when I held down the eject button it just shut off now it wont power up..any suggestions on my new prob??? thx..PEPSI

cant see how you've fried your Ps2 if youve used a no solder modchip. Remove the chip and see if everything is normal

i have a mod chip in my ps2 but i am having trouble booting games that i have made! would i be able to do it with just a swap magic disk or do i need to get some sort of tool aswell?

Ihave a no sodder chip and I did remove it to see what was going on since I couldnt play the games I burned and that is how I noticed that the chip did not match the pic of the supposed to be exact chip on the order page from the site I ordered it on but mabey it was the switch that burned out I have had my ps2 for a while mabey Ill invest in a new one are there any places to buy them already modded? and ready to play burned games ? thx again ..pepsi

Pepzi, if you are in the USA you can get them at http://www.XModd.com
That is where i bought mine. It will come with everything you need inside to play your back up games of any type (both NTSC & PAL)
Get the DMS4 Pro chip.
It has the Summone laser fix and ToxicOS installed as well.
(ToxicOS will let you do many things, load games with no boot discs is the biggest, the new one can even let you play dual layer back ups!)
