hi

ok 4 things to note!

1, update to latest Nero!

2, i think i have seen problems with the NEC drive and not just dual layer discs either? i could be wrong?

3, uninstall INCD it conflicts with burning!

4, update firmware for your drive!

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

the NEC 2500A was not designed originally for dual layer dvd's... what you would need to do is flash that drive with the 2510's firmware.

OH seems you already flashed with Herrie's firmware to get 1.07... um i guess just read this thread http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?t=25904

I remember reading a while back that the success rate of flashing a single layer burner to dual layer was about 50%. I don't know if that rate has improved or not. It was not always successful and the ones that did work became very picky on media. This is just from reading not direct experience.

First, you need to get "nero's clean tool and Incd's clean tool," clean them both out of your computer. Reboot your computer, install Nero again, then try to back up again.

Secondly, if your dvd-burner is not a DL support then you're more likely to make more coasters in reality. However, if you have a dvd-burner that's capable of burning DL media, then make sure you set the settings in Nero into a "dvd9" - this will make you a happy camper.

Hi there,

http://www.necus.com/support/
http://support.necsam.com/oem/downloads/flashfirmware/readme.asp?ID=3

The latest official firmware for the NEC-2500A seems to be is v1.0A

Nero v6.6.0.13 is out, several bugs have been fixed, specialy if your dealing with Dual Layer, I would definitly upgrade.
