rename the files to drop off the file extension. If this file is a true VCID then it should play once renamed. The media player will not play it because it does not know the file extention r00 or r01. These to me sound like some kind of file splitting software tag. Try removing it and playing the file.

opps sorry I said VCID when in fact it should have been xvid. You might also check to make sure you have the right codec(s). There is a program called GSpot that works great for finding out that information.

you have a bunch of rar archives(.001,.002 etc) yes ???,which contain an avi

you need "winrar" to unpack them

get it,then..if you already have it,where it says "open with",find winrar, then select that

right click on the first file and select extract,
this will give you possibly an avi file which you can play,or
convert with vso's dvixtodvd to burn onto a dvd disk
