Hey there. I did a search on San Andreas in this forum but didn't find anything pertinent.

I've backuped 5 games so far with DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 without problem, using an LG GSA-4081B burner. However trying to backup San Andreas keeps failing for me on the read stage at exactly 50%. Here is the error:

-------------------------------------------

I/O Error!

Device [3:0:0] HL-DT-ST- DVDRAM GSA-4081B A100 (D:) (ATA)

ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 28 00 00 11 16 60 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 1119840

Sense Area: F0 00 03 00 11 16 60 10 31 0C 04 08 11 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Unrecovered Read Error

-------------------------------------------

I'm assuming it's a bad original I'm trying to backup? There are slight scratches on the source media but nothing I haven't tried to back up from before. Until I try to find a better original I just wanted to confirm there aren't any settings in DVD-Decrypter I should be adjusting based on the above information.

Reason I'm asking is because I've read about problems people have had trying to backup San Andreas - although the details on the difficulties haven't been clear.

Thanks in advance.

I take it your READING the disc yeah?

If so, it looks like a damaged disc and no, there are no settings in DVD Decrypter that you should be changing, bad luck im 'fraid.
There are companies out there who fix discs for as little as £3 newly restored. If not, try cleaning the disc.
I use water + Hand-Soap.

there are,
try in tools/settings/i,o> check the "ignor read errors" box

this may work,but i doubt it,just give it a go....or>>

you could try using isobuster,
open up the iso(it will read straight off the disc),and drag and drop the folders listed into a new folder, and rebuild it with Nero,
however,if this dont work, the original is crap, and u are screwed

Looks like it was a bad original after all. I tried another original of San Andreas and it's working fine. Good thing I always buy two copies of each game ;)

Thanks for your replies guys.
