Well have been watching this site for helpful hints and have downloaded DVD decrypter top help copy PS2 games. Okay now i can copy them onto dvd disc but they wont play yet if it has a movie on the same type of disc it will play can someone tell me what i am doing wrong please oh i also have dvd shrink

Dvd Shrink is not required.

You cannot boot a backup ps2 game on a stock ps2 console.

You must have a modchip installed or utilize boot discs to load them.

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

I use verbatim discs cause a friend suggested them okay now that i am using the right quality where do i find these swap magic discs do i have to purchase them online cause i hate giving over my c/c details. And where do i find modchips have had my ps2 for 2yrs does that make a difference????

I was just looking at the Gamedevil site.

They have a combo of the SwapMagic 3.6 discs and the Swap Tool Pro for $31.95. The two items ordered separately add up to $27.90 ($19.95 + $7.95).

Why would anyone order the combo?
