Hey Hows Going?
Im new to copying ps2 games but know how to copy xbox games with dvd decryptor and craxtion...My question is, is it the same or is there a diffrent method for ps2 ive got my ps2 modded so i was just wondering if i could go about it the same way as i would a xbox game?...................................................

no it is the same use DVDecrypter to create you ISO and burn them

More important than the software is your MEDIA.
Cheap media does not work with the ps2.

The following list is in preference order.

MXLRG01, MXLRG02 = Maxell = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Use Quality Media I use
Verbatim dvd+r

***** BURN AT NO MORE THAN 2X****** <-----------(IMPORTANT)
TURN OFF ANY BACKGROUND APPLICATIONS

1. Take the ps2 game put it in the dvd rom or dvd burner, your choice.

2. open the dvd decryptor program then go to to tool bar and hit MODE>ISO>READ. Then choose the correct dvd drive that the game is in as the "source". Also choose where you want the files to be stored on the pc hdd. THEN CLICK DECRYPT , or the huge graphical picture at the bottom of the program which makes it run. The game is now copying to your HDD. Take the game out when finished (it might take a while).

3. Go to the same tab in dvd decryptor and choose MODE>ISO>WRITE. This will then let you look for the files you just created in step 2. Select the file that you just created. (There is only 2 files creadted so pick the .mds) (The smaller file)Then click WRITE, make sure there is blank DVD in the drive

What do you mean by modded? What version PS2?
If you have a mod chip you are pretty well set. You can just download DVD Decrypter and burn your discs.

If you use swap magic some games may need patches applied or rebuilding of the ISO.

Biggest mistake most people make is going out and buying some cheap media thinking it will work. 90% of the time they have problems.
heard good thinks about Verbatim, Ritek and have used TDK and Phillips myself with great successs. Also buy a small pack at first of both +R and -R DVD's to see which works best in your system. You can always use the one's that do not work best for movies which are not near as picky about what media you burn them to as games are.

By modded i mean chipped to play back up games and its a slim ps2 ill try dvd decryptor and see how i go thanx heaps....................
