so, here it is: a thread on college. what college did you go to? which one are you in? do you plan to go to a university when you graduate high school, and if so, which one?

personally, i'm hoping to go to Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. they've got a great degree program in astronomy and in physics, and it's a lovely area.

I graduated from high school when I was 17, and started college at Michigan Technological University, when I was still 17. Bad mistake. :) I learned about wine, women, and song. I attended for 2 years, and decided that I wasn't ready. My sig. tells the rest of that portion of my life.

The best thing that happened to me, while attending those 2 years was, I met the woman who is still my wife today. (35 years).

After I got out of the Army, I went back to Michigan Tech., with a wife and my oldest son. I graduated 3 tough years later, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Those 3 years were the hardest and best years of my life. Without the support of my wife, I would have never made it.

Life is good!

I went to ITT Tech and got an associate degree in Electronics Engineering. Thinking about going for the bachelor's. Good school for the people who work full time but want to go to school full time. Classes were 3 days a week, 5 hours a day. Homework load wasn't too bad. I personally like the Tech schools because you don't have to take classes that have nothing to do with what you're majoring in. I checked out some universities and you have to take all kinds of religion and sociology courses to get a degree in electronics.

Whatever you choose to do, do something. Otherwise it's nothing but work, sleep, work, sleep. Pretty boring if you ask me. Find out what you love to do and try and get a career doing that. Don't think about money, do what you love and you'll do good at it, the money will follow.

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Hmmmmm....after high school going to a community college Rapahannock. It isn't a big college, but I like it not bad at all.The classes are almost 3 hours long and I don't have a full load so not too shabby at all.I am trying to get into Electrical Engineering and Computer Programming. It is hard to get the classes for programming where I am at though,so am currently working on engineering.Life after high school is great I think, and to be honest I hated high school.

I hated high school too, but college is way different. It's a lot better. I took a computer programming class and hated it. It was just Visual Basic, wasn't too difficult, just uninteresting to me. If you can get an electronics engineering degree along with some programming stuff, that'd be awesome. Make sure you learn some ladder logic stuff too if you don't know any already.

I'll probably go to a community college, most likely Meramac, then off to a university, probably Rolla. I'll end up doing Environmental Engineering, live in some apartment somewhere (hopefully with a certain someone), and work some mindless job trying to pay for that college. Fun.
