i looked over the forums but couldnt find anything that i could understand for solving this prob.

i have an .AVI file that has 1hr 39min on it, i used VDub to split off the last 19 minutes so i can make it a VCD on two disks.

problem is the sound is now out of synch when i try to play the two new avi files with WindowMediaPlayer or divxPlayers.

i read on one thread something about saving the audio separately but they didnt explain that too well.

if anyone could help me out with this or point me to a guide that been made id appreciate this.

The only thing I can think of is you didnt split the movie at a keyframe or your audio or video settings weren't set to direct stream copy? When you selected the frame to spit at were you holding down the shift key?

yeah i used the shift key correctly, and the video and audio were set on direst video stream.

i have been able to correct this on my own though

took 3 programs.

1st i decompressed the audio using a utility program of avi2vcd_converter.exe, found it on google for free,
after i decompressed the sound i used VDUB to split the enlarged file....went from 713mb to 1.8gb.
i then just used nero5.5 to burn as vcd and it worked perfectly.

hope no one else has too many probs with this.

thanks yall.

I wonder if in general it's better to split movies with uncompressed or wav sound format?
