Being relatively new at DVD ripping, I would like to know the simplest/easiest way to get a movie from DVD to my hard drive, keeping file size as small as possible and quality relatively high. And which is the best player for the files?

the best apps 2 use would either b smartripper or dvd decryptor. I use smartripper and personally find this app better. there is no way to break down the files and make them smaller if ur only ripping them onto ur HD. if u reencode them to mpeg, then the file will be smaller but it will take several hours 2 do this (overnight ususally). i use power dvd to play vob's etc ripped off of dvd but win dvd also plays dvd files. if u have a newer version of windows media player, u will b able 2 use th@ 2
