Where can I buy DVD 9 discs? Are there any inexpensive places to buy them from?

As far as I know you cant. They are only supplied to the industry and I doubt our writers could burn them anyway.

DVD-9s can be only pressed, not burned. They are basically two thin DVDs glued together to produce two layers for the data on slightly different wavelength, AFAIK.

Dual sided DVD-Rs are NOT DVD-9s, they are DVD-10s:

And by using dual sided DVD-Rs, you still need to split DVD-9s to two sides, so the time it takes is equal to splitting the movie over two DVD-5 discs.
