I thought that DVD Decrypter was able to change dvd to mpeg and back and forth. Is it possible? Can I also back up a misic cd. Its scratched and I was hopping decryptor would be able to fix it.

dcrypter doesnt convert files but makes image files. or "exact copies" of the files. and yes i believe that it will backup your cd.

I am sure you can find a file conversion program out there on the web, somewhere like Download.com or something. Have never tried DVD Decrypter for CD's myself. If it doesn't work there are plenty of free programs out there to make your CD's with. And as long as the scratch does not effect the discs reading part (which it will if it is too deep) of the program then your back up should work just fine.

I did try backing up a cd but as soon as i put the cd in the drive Decripter would not read it cause it wasnt a dvd. Thats the message it gave me. So if its scratched then there is pretty much nothing you can do about it right? Oh well thanks for the info.

Cheetah Audio converter is a free converter program you can use to convert your MP3 files to WAV files to burn them.
If you just want to back up the CD to a new CD then CDRWIN can do that.
Or you can use Windows Media Player too.
