Ok, get:
Mainconcept Mpeg Encoder (This is a demo)
TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 (This is a demo)
DVD Shrink 3.2 (Freeware, but I think it relies on Nero for burining, so have nero installed)

1.
Fire up Mpeg Encoder. Open the Divx File in video open. Do not worry about audio. It still gets your audio. (Note this is for regular 2 channel audio). Choose output format as DVD (or at this point you can choose vcd, and it will make the mpeg for you), and NTSC, and LPCM, and Program (Video + Audio). Click convert. It took me about 1hr to convert a 90m divx to DVD Mpeg.

2.
Fire up TMPGEnc. Create new project. Add the Mpeg you just made. Then edit the menu to your likes. Click output now. (Create DVD Folder) Select Begin output. It will warn you if its over standard dvd size. That is ok. Took 15m to convert the DVD Mpeg we made in step 2. If its smaller and will fit on a standard dvd, then you can go ahead and start burning it now, in TMPGenc. If larger, go to step 3.

3.
Fire up DVDshrink. Click open files, and navigate to the folder that was outputted in step 2. Just click the dvd folder (not audio or video folder), and open button. Then either manually choose the compression on the slider or let it do it for you. Then click 3backup. Make sure under "file, preferances, file I/O" that you choose "burn with nero". Click backup. Select deep scan (if you want higher quality.)then click on backup. It took my system 1hr 38m to compress and then burn automatically at 1x speed.

Total for me, 3hr processor time, on a AMD 2500+, 512mb, Radeon 9600 Pro, with Dual 7200rpm 8mb HDs. I also didn't have to sit for anything, and watch it.

If you use the right bitrate when you encode you don't need to use DVD Shrink unless you're making an ISO with it.

"Exactly" ...There is absolutly no need to use DVD Shrink and useing it will actually Lower the Quality More than just useing a Lower bitrate to encode in the First Place Pluss it will Take One step out of your Method....
