Hi while using win rar to decompress a movie i got the error: cant process files bigger than 4 GB,only ntfs will handle files this large.
Can i just divide the RAR files in half then recomplie them?

i take it you're using win98, or win98se, and fat or fat32 file system. ie your OS won't handle single files over 4GB in size. As far as i recall, WinRAR is no different to WinZIP et al, ie the file(s) have to be unzipped or unrarred exactly as they are inside the rar archive, so if it's 4gb in the rar it has to be extracted as is.
as for ntfs, it's not supported pre-win2000 - http://windows.about.com/od/filesfoldersdisks/l/aa001231a.htm
However if you do have win2000 or xp etc, you can convert to ntfs. there's the 'convert' command, which you should read up on.
hope that helps

no worries; the whole system would have to be converted, ntfs is a more advanced file system; have a look here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/47730
it's easier than me explaining it all...
it's just one simple command at the end of the day, but read up on it, and obviously take heed of the dangers
make sure to report back so ppl can give further advice if necessary, before dipping any toes in...
