I am new to DVD burning. I used dvd shrink (i think properly) and saved the movie to my harddrive. I have nero and tried to use that to burn it to a dvd-r and it gives me an error message. I am burning at 4x and below is a copy of the error log. I have been fiddling for about 2 days and I think I have ruined about 10 or 20 dvd-r's trying it. I hope someone can help me.

This is so frustrating, I think I have downloaded about 10 different programs and looked up detailed instructions on each on how to copy dvd's and it won't work for any of them. I will be patient and await a response on here now I think, I don't want to waste any more dvd-r's.

Can anyone out there help me? I am bringing it into Staples today to see if they can fix it, i think its a problem with the install of the drive because it won't work with any program, and I've tried about 20 different programs, it won't even burn cd's.

here's what I saw:
Quote:
Determine maximum speed : FALSE

The third line says Write: False. This would lead me to believe that you are just simulating a burn and not actually burning. But later on I see where it tried to get your blank media info.

means that it doesn't like these discs basically. Check into a firmware update, also get some better media. I hear Verbatim is good if you buy in stores. If you buy online, get Taiyo Yuden. Stay away from Memorex at all costs.
