well now that i found my burner was pooched and got the replacement today i sat down with dvddecrypter and backed up 11 games. got my switches installed into the ps2 slim line and throw the swap disk 3.6 usa dvd disk in (all backups were dvd format) and loads fine.

i put in the backup and hit the X button and it turns black on some and just sits there spinning the disk doing nothing...

on other disks ihit the button and it sits on the swap disk screen saying it is not a ps2 disk

and on a couple of others i get where it goes to a red fire looking screen saying please insert a ps2 format dvd (cd) ....

i am using dvd decrypter to copy and to burn i have both read and write set to 1 X so it reads and writes to disk more thoroughly

but out of 11 backups not one works c an anyone help me here the originals work just fine

well read pages and pages more in the forums to get more ideas...
not sure what version of ps2 it is 11 or 12 all i know its new ps2 slim line

the media is dvd-r 4x
i tried originally at 1x read soem more trashed a few more dvd-r's trying other speeds upto the 4x mark

going to try some +r's tomorrow and see if this is any better any recommendations on what type of dvd blanks to use and whether the machine with the magic 3.6 dvd disk and switch should work with dvd-r or are their issues on the slim ps2 and dvd-r or something ?? anyones ideas would be great right now have all kinds of coasters sitting here already :(

Slim PS2 is a V12. I use Swap Magic 3.6 and slim tool with my slim pstwo and it works great. Make sure all the switches are set properly by playing an original disc with the lid open. I use verbatim 4x dvd-r discs and they work great for my backups. Just remember to choose the .mds file when you burn in DVD Decrytor. BTW, what is the brand of the dvd media you are using, cheaper brands tend to not work?? Choose verbatim, tdk, sony, don't use memorex...

not to sure what the brand was got them supercheap at futureshop (canadian electronics store)in a 200 cake box a typical no name brand

went down and picked up 25 pack of sony dvd+r's and work perfectly :)

thanks for the great info here keep up the great work here guys :)

my schp # was 700011 so i am taking that is version 11 not 12 not sure havent touched ps2 since version 7 anyhow cheers and thnx guys
