Im trying to put avi's onto DVD and for somereason when I play them on my budget $100 wal-mart dvd player it will skip over whole sections at a time. The player is only 5 months old. I burned one copy (using DVD santa) at full speed and nothing skipped till the end. I burned one at the slowest setting and it was worse. Does my player suck, or am I burning them wrong.

Why don't you buy a DIVX and AVI certified stand alone dvd player? This will save you tons of hours trying to convert from AVI/DIVX to DVD. Simply use Nero to do a CD or DVD "data" straight copy, wait until it's finished. Presto..... you're done, put your newly backed up CD or DVD into your dvd player and you will be amazed how superior is the quality pictures.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
