I did'nt do anything differant just shut down my puter and this morning when i woke up i turned it on preparing to install a program that uses auto run to work properly and my dvd writer wont auto run know. its a LG GSA-4082b model. I've already reformatted my puter reinstalled drive and drivers i even went into reg edit and adjusted my dvd value to 95 like i was told by microsoft...i'm still having probs though so help me plzzz.....

You dont have AnyDVD running do you?
Reason why I ask is than AnyDVD can and will disable autorun features.

Did you update your firmware.
Its pretty easy to do using DVD Decrypter.

Start DVD Decrypter right click your dvd drive.
Click check for firmware updates.

i just tried my cd r drive and it gives the same error "the application failed to initialze properly (0xc0000006)" i've done a virus scan and spyware scan and its all clean, thats what i expected since i just formatted my hard drive and nothing has been installed yet, but i still dont know what the f*** to do.......ahhhhhhh!!!!!! please help thanks

can you make shure you have udma and not pio ide transferr mode enabled for your drives.

device manager/'ide ata/atapi controllers'.

try updating your atapi drivers.

make shure your cabling is correct master/ slave configs etc.


since you have reformatted and reinstalled windows, its sounds like a hardware issue.


try the above and get back with your results

nope tried it does'nt work either my cables are all on proper and my drives work just not auto run and only work on some disc sometimes not always maybe my drives are f***** oh well thanks for the help but any other sugestions are welcome hopefully i can fix the problem cause i cant really aford to go out and buy a new one........thinking its probaly someting stupid and small but i'll see what you guys have to say.......thanx again
