I'm getting some sort of error message when I try to copy my iso files to dvd. It is an I/O error message and it says not a compatible format. I am using dvd decrypter. If anyone could tell me how to get them to work that would be awesome. Thank you

need more info on your setup, perhaps your burner is only a dvd+r or dvd-r burner~ or is it dual format?

while i haven't yet tried the TY 16x media, assuming they are authentic, you shouldn't have ANY problems media related~ :P

i think there is something wrong w/ your setup/configuration, need more info to help you out~

I have a new gateway computer with a double layer 16x multi format dvd+/rw drive. I have been using fuji dvd-r's and they've worked fine. When I put the dvd-r in the drive it recognizes it in DVD Decrypter but when i go to burn it the message comes up after trying to read it 30 times.

your problem now DEFINITELY sounds like a firmware issue. i am not sure what burner is included in your Gateway computer, but, you will need to update your firmware for that particular model, coming to you with factory/stock firmware MOST LIKELY will not recognize the newer 16x TY media~ :)

if you can find out what make and model your dvd burner is included with your Gateway, i can assist you in helping you properly update your firmware for your computer~ until i know the model and make of the burner, i can only suggest to you what to do.

i am like 90% sure that this is a FIRMWARE issue, if fuji 8x work just fine, then, it's because your burner can't read these new 16x (which are consider newer media). let me know and i can help you more~

I don't know if this is what you need but it's all I could find. I believe the make and model is LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S. I hope that helps. I really appreciate your assistance. Thanks

hi, yes, that is all i needed...please use the link i included below to update your firmware to the newest version, i happen to use this same dvd burner on my 2nd computer as well and this is the version of firmware i have been using and mine will detect the 16x media. (i use verbatim's 16x btw, i haven't tried the TY 16x as of yet). :P

just scroll down a little ways from the top...under SOHW-1633S ( 16x 4x / 8x 4x / 16x / 2.4x + 48x 24x 48x ) DVD Dual Firmware

you should download the newest one which is dated :2004/12/24
it's actually highlighted DR16BS0S.zip

if you need instructions as to HOW to properly flash firmware this can be found at the top of the page of that link click on "How to upgrade firmware" the instructions are straight forward and it should be very simple for you~

just be careful...in the past i HAVE incorrectly flashed before and it destroyed my drive, i say this not to scare you, but to let you know to make sure you do it correctly as the instructions tell you, this will ensure MORE media compatibility and your 16x ty will be recognized and you can continue burning happily in the near future~ :)

good luck to you and let me know how it turns out, i DO have the same drive as you like i said in my 2nd computer, so, i've already flashed mine to this version using DR16BS0S.zip and i can detect the 16x Verbatims with no problems~
