You're not using "mpeg edit", you're using IFOEdit. This should give you a clue...

You are using IFO edit to edit the authored DVD on your hard drive?
Why?
Tmpgenc outputs mpg, or elementary streams. AFAIK, ifoedit only works on elementary streams.
Try ReJig instead.
What, exactly, are you trying to do?

I didn´t author my DVD so far, that´s what I am trying do do using the program IFOEdit.
What I did was to encode the AVI file to an mpg using TMPGEnc.Now I want to author the resulting mpg from TMPGEnc.
Sorry for the bad English.
Thanks for any help.

OK, if the file is not totally dvd compliant, and demuxed into elementary streams, IFOEdit won't work.
Demux in TMPGEnc, file, mpeg tools, simple Demux, and then try.

Hi rebootjim !
I demuxed into elementary streams (using TMPGEnc) and it worked!
Now I could author using IFOEdit, everything is OK.
Thanks a lot.

FYI, IFOEdit works best on PAL files, and ReJig works best on NTSC.
They both do approximately the same thing.
Choose whichever you prefer.

Thanks

I'm also having problems with IFOEdit that you could help with.
A friend asked me to transfer a vhs video onto dvd. It's an old video so the sound is pretty shitty. I copied it on to my hard drive with videomate and demuxed the file with TMPGEnc then removed the hiss in the audio with cool edit. I was then going to author with IFOEdit but I kept getting a 'could not open for writing' message. After reading this thread I tried ReJig, half way through it encountered an error and closed down, the small pard of dvd produced also didn't sound right. If you could shed some light on either of these problem I would much appreciate.
Cheers.

I downleaded to my harddisk several VOB files without the ifo files etc because I edited them using videredo. Now I wish to join all the 45 vobs into one movie and burn to a dvd. I would also like to produce an ifo files to go with the joined VOB files. Anybody please show me how I can do it and which software to use. I've tried IFOEdit but keeps getting the message "could not find any VOB unit in VOB file". Thanks.
