I recently tried to make a back-up of one of my dvd's and after decrypter finished reading the movie, my decrypter guide tells me that I have to have at least the figure on the bottom right corner of the screen which is 7,402,754 KB. But I only have 4,500,000 KB.
I tried it and didn't have enough folder memory I guess. My question is how do I increase the folder memory or capacity from 4,500,000 to 7,402,754 KB's where it was initially when I started using decrypter a while back. Im not a computer geek so please give me detailed instructions if you can please.
Thanks
James

You need more space on your hard drive. Try cleaning it up

I have a 120 gb hard drive and have 90 gb not used. So I have plenty of hard drive left. I need to somehow increase the folder size I guess. Or where ever decrypter holds the information after reading the dvd.

I'm sorry I just don't understand. Did you rip this movie to your hard drive?

When you first start decrypter it checks the dvd and gets information about it from the disc. Next if you choose full dvd back-up, decrypter will choose a default destination for the information on the disc or you can click on the folder in the destination block and choose your own folder destination. Anyway my guide tells me that I have to have at least a minimum of 7,402,754 KB in order to make sure that I have enough folder space for decrypter to store on my computer. The information is on the bottom right corner of the screen. If I have less that 7,402,754 KB I won,t have enough space in my folder to hold the whole movie when I click on the ripper icon (the disc and the hard drive icon). I have plenty of hard drive space left but after decrypter reads the dvd the bottom right corner only shows 4,500,000 KB available. Am I choosing or creating a folder in the wrong area of my c drive? I used to have plenty of space left befor but I don't know why I don"t now. None of the other dvd,s I backed up are left in my computer, they are deleted when the back-up is done. Did you ever have this problem? Got any sugggestions? Thanks for your help

Ok I get it now, at the bottom right it says 7,402,754Kb or 7.06Gb, this is the size of the dvd. You must have at least 7.06Gb available on your hard drive to place this information in. On the left of screen it will tell you what you have left on your hard drive beside "FREE SPACE". If you have 90Gb like you say beside FREE SPACE it should read 94,371,840Kb

Actually I have 109,919,040 KB of free space left. I know when I start to rip the dvd that the amount in the right lower corner drops when the movie is being downloaded to my computer. If the number drops to zero and I still have some video files or vts files left to download won't it stop decrypter because it ran out of memory or folder space? Or does it matter? Maybe my user guide is wrong or am I misunderstanding what my guide is telling me? Maybe I don,t need that amount in the lower right corner if I have 109,919,040 left. What do you think?

When you hit Decrypt a new page pops up and the number in the bottom left is what is remaining to go from the disc to your hard drive. When that number is zero there are no more files, they would all be on your hard drive already

Sorry I didn't answer you sooner but I been out of town with my family on a vacation at the coast. The answer to your question is yes. Everything seems to be working ok. You were right about having the amount of space on my hd in the lower right corner. The guide I have wasn't the best written one and was confusing to say the least. Again thanks for your help. James
