NERO Not Recording Entire Movie

I have tried to make a movie (my very first), capturing a 34min DV file from my camcorder into NERO Vision Express in .avi format. It divided the capture into seven separate .avi's. The first six were identical in size (about 1.47GB) and the last looks like a remainder file -- what was left over. The DV was of a live performance I'm trying to use as a promotion. So, naturally, I'd like to align chapters with the beginning of each song we performed. I'd like to make a promo movie with Menu Items for each of the chapters (each starting at the beginning of a song we performed, not at the artificially inserted chapter due to the file size limitation.) I have "DETECT SCENES" turned off during capture. I have moved the Chapter Marks in the effects timeline so that they align as I want, but (1) I can't get more than one menu item, and (2) the DVD I burned from it was only 14 minutes in duration -- not the entire DV. BTW, when I first captured the tape, I had seven menu items, but I deleted all but the first one becuase the others didn't align with song performances. I also tried combining the individual clips int a single one. After that, I got the 14-minute DVD, trying to burn the full 34 minutes.

Does someone know how to do what I want to accomplish? Can it be done in NERO at all? Finally, where does the file-size limitation com from: NERO, Windows 98SE or the .avi spec?
