You may want to consider changing your process: First use Decrypter to read (create) ISO image; second, use Shrink to re-author compress; third, go back to Decrypter to write (burn) ISO image.
The choppy, jumpy, skipping movie could be the media you are using. Your best choices are TY and Verbatim. Also remenber not to write to end of disk but choose target size as 4350 or thereabouts.

I've burned many a good disk with Ritek GO4s some time past. The media is still okay, but I do believe the quality may have slipped somewhat over time. I presume you are burning them at 4x. I'm using Maxells right now, but after that inventory is used up, then it is soley TY or Verbs for me.
Check to see if your burned movie plays okay in your computer. If it does, then it is possible your standalone is the problem. They can be finicky with the type of disks your use.

console,
A lot of folk have made many a good backup on G04's but I quit useing them long ago due to inconsistancy problems. Also have you updated your firmware lately? I see that you are multi-tasking while encoding. Depending on speed and resorces of your pc, most don't recommend doing that but rather leave pc alone untill backup is complete.
