I have just tried to use the swap magic fix CDLoader for the first time but without success. I downloaded the fix for Ratchet & Clank 3 (CDLoader_V7_ALL(1)) which is a zipfile that unzips into a cue file (CDLv7all.cue) and bin file. I then used the latest version of Alcohol 120% to open the cue file and write to CD, following the instructions on the swap magic fix website on how to use Alcohol 120%. I tried it twice, letting Alcohol use Audio as the default datatype (which it does) and also by changing the datatype to Playstation 2 but neither of the output CDs could be read by the Playstation. (I didn't even get as far as trying to load my backup copy of the R&C3 game).
The image file information screen in Alcohol said that the recording would be Session 01 : Track 01 : Mode 2 although the swap magic website said that you have to check that it is going to be Mode 2 Form 1. There didn't seem to be any way of specifying Form 1. Both runs of Alcohol seemed to work successfully and produced an output CD with no errors - they just couldn't be read by the Playstation.
Is it because I need to specify a different datatype or a security protection method? Could it be the media I was using? Can anyone help?!
I had problems with CD Loader also, my PS2 just had problems reading the CD for some odd reason.
You can go here and download DVDLoader which is the same program but you burn it to a DVD, which some systems have less trouble with than CD's
Thanks I'll give this a try. The DVDLoader download is a RAR file which I will need to expand by downloading some expansion software. Presumably the expanded file can then be copied to DVD by Alcohol or DVD Decrypter?
